Toronto Maple Leafs’ Joffrey Lupul ‘trying to stay out of trouble’ after altercation with Canucks’ Daniel Sedin
TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger is reporting that Leafs winger Joffre Lupul is “trying” to stay off the ice this week after an incident with Canucks defenseman Daniel Sedan on Thursday night.
The Leafs forward was ejected by the Canucks after a slashing altercation in the third period.
He then became embroiled in a fight with Canucks captain Henrik Sedin, who also went to the dressing room for a confrontation with his teammate.
It’s believed that the Leafs have suspended Lupul indefinitely after the incident.
Lupul was fined $3,500 for his actions and fined $2,500 by the NHL.
The Leafs have been trying to figure out a way to get rid of the 22-year-old forward, who has scored three goals and 11 points in 10 games this season.
Lupul is expected to miss a couple of games because of the suspension.
He’s scored four goals and 12 points in 22 games this year.
